Residence Kyo-Machiya, Kyoto
Nagae Family Residence, Residence Kyo-Machiya, is a Designated Tangible Cultural Property in Kyoto. Buildings from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji and Taisho periods were built in a style called omoteya-zukuri. This building is a typical Kyoto machiya townhouse complete with a narrow facade, itoya-goshi latticework and a main front door on the first floor and mushiko mado windows on the second floor.
